The Fortune 500 is so named because of a list Fortune Magazine started in 1955. Even today, to be a Fortune 500 company denotes a measure of success. But by 2015, just over 12% of the original companies remained.

What will ensure the survival of the rest in these uncertain times-indeed, organizations of any size, whether corporate, nonproft, educational institutions or social enterprises--isn’t adapting (by which time it’s usually too late!) but by influencing and shaping the future.
