KUALA LUMPUR: Science Advisor to the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Professor Tan Sri Zakri Abdul Hamid received the Global Competitiveness Award for his endless contributions in the nation’s development rate, competitiveness and sustainable innovation and global prosperity through investments in science and technology.
Zakri is also the co-chair of the Malaysian Industry – Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT).
The Award was presented at the prestigious Global Innovation Summit 2017 Gala Dinner held here today.
Her Royal Highness Sultanah Pahang Sultanah Kalsom graced the award ceremony gala dinner and also presented the award to the winners.
Also present were Minister in Prime Minister’s Department and minister in-charge of MIGHT, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri; Chairman of Global Federation Competitiveness Councils (GFCC), Charles O. Holiday and President of GFCC, Deborah L. Wince-Smith.
The Global Competitiveness Award was established last year by the GFCC to recognise leaders who have advanced regional national competitiveness at the nexus of the public and private sectors.
The awards recipients were chosen by a panel of internationally-renowned experts.
