GATEWAY TO SUSTAINABILITY

MALAYSIA INTERNATIONAL CENTRE FOR SUSTAINABLE CITIES (MYICSC)

Malaysia International Centre for Sustainable Cities (MyICSC) is an initiative to encourage smart cities stakeholders to build Sustainable Cities and Communities as per UNDP SDG-11. Its a powerful opportunity to leverage on the knowledge and shared learning of an entire initiative, support high performance at all locations, and accelerate the broad-based adoption of innovative advances.

MyICSC creates an environment that encourages and facilitates the active sharing of expertise and new insights across a particular community of interest. Shared ideas foster additional insights and knowledge, and the successful execution of this role can significantly accelerate the pace of innovation and adoption of best practices across an entire organisation. In addition, MyICSC gives opportunities for regional, national and international networking with like-minded parties.

The workshop was conducted to discuss issues related to Sustainable Cities Development in Malaysia. The outcome were gleaned from the five focus groups of mixed expertise representing 70 workshop participants representing the Ministry, State Departments, Municipalities, industries players, academicians and NGOs.
