As the local aerospace industry progresses, MIGHT continues to work closely with the Ministries, industry players and other key stakeholders in spearheading industry development. At present the focus is on content development on Transport and Mobility for the New Industrial Masterplan. This includes stakeholders engagement sessions to gather all the necessary inputs including the issues and challenges faced by the industry and updates on the Government and industry\u2019s initiatives towards making Malaysia a preferred hub for aerospace in the region. More programmes are planned for 2020 involving a broader group of stakeholders through the MIGHT Interest Group (MIG) platform and TechnoMart, among others.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

The local rail industry is gaining prominence with the establishment of the Malaysia Rail Industry Corporation (MARIC), with support from MIGHT. The year 2019 proved challenging to the rail industry and moving forward, MIGHT\u2019s role in industry facilitation is increasingly vital. In close collaboration with MARIC, MIGHT actively promotes local players\u2019 capabilities both locally and internationally, in partnership with other Government agencies.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Shipbuilding and Ship Repair (SBSR) is one of MIGHT\u2019s forte and is becoming more prominent with the development of the Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Strategic Plan 2020. In realizing the recommendations, MIGHT continuously works with all relevant parties to ensure its smooth implementation. As a member of the National Shipping and Port Advisory Council 5: Ancillary and Support Services, MIGHT actively promotes the SBSR industry and highlights its issues and challenges to improve efficiency, safety, competitiveness and environmental benefits. Partnering with industry players through the Association of Marin e Industries of Malaysia (AMIM), the Maritime Strategic Association of Malaysia (MASTRA) and others, MIGHT is committed to taking the local SBSR industry higher.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>
