KUALA LUMPUR, June 28 — The Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) and Confexhub will be releasing the \u201cMalaysia Smart City<\/p>\n

Outlook 2021- 2022 (MSCO) – An Overview of Malaysia’s Smart City Technology, Industry Landscape, Priorities and The Way Forward\u201d guidebook.<\/p>\n

In a joint statement today, MIGHT and Confexhub said with the theme \u201cEmbracing Technology Towards Enhancing Smart Cities and Communities\u201d, the MSCO serves<\/p>\n

as a practical guide to help smart city stakeholders take stock of Malaysia\u2019s accomplishments in smart city development.<\/p>\n

It will also help them to explore strategic technologies, as well as identify gaps and priority areas for development.<\/p>\n

The guidebook also provides a series of global case studies and potential action plans as reference for local adoption.<\/p>\n

MIGHT Joint-Chairman (Industry), Tan Sri Dr Ir Tajuddin Ali said the MSCO aims to motivate city authorities to embrace technologies in urban planning and operations, while attracting relevant technology players to participate in the many economic opportunities ahead.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe publication of the document hopes to demonstrate to the government, industry and communities that Smart Cities promises a new source of economic growth<\/p>\n

for the country, while supporting the nation\u2019s sustainability commitment at the same time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Confexhub chairman, Datuk Dr Abdul Aziz said the document is structured to guide both the smart city project owners and technology providers to<\/p>\n

make informed decisions when planning and developing an efficient, safe and inclusive smart city, particularly in adopting new technologies.<\/p>\n

The MSCO held virtually, in conjunction with MIGHT\u2019s 26th Annual General Meeting on June 29, 2021.<\/p>\n
