CYBERJAYA, April 6 — Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB) has formalised a memorandum of collaboration (MOC) with the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) to augment the development of high-technology industries in the state.

The signing with the Science, Technology, and Innovation Ministry’s (MOSTI) agency was witnessed by state executive councillor for investment, trade, and mobility Ng Sze Han, as well as MOSTI secretary-general Datuk Nagulendran Kangayatkarasu, reinforcing the strategic alignment between the Federal and state governments in driving the nation’s technology and innovation agenda.

The MOC also highlights MOSTI’s role as the lead driver of national technology development via the strengthening of the innovation ecosystem, technology transfer, and commercialisation of research outcomes towards a knowledge-based economy.

PNSB’s chief executive officer Raja Ahmad Shahrir Iskandar Raja Salim said that PNSB and MIGHT are strategic partners capable of contributing expertise in both technical and non-technical aspects, including knowledge sharing, best practices, and future industry development planning.

“This collaboration will accelerate the development of a high-value industrial ecosystem in Selangor, subsequently attracting quality investments and strengthening the state’s position as a high-technology industrial hub,” he said during the event.

The collaboration will focus on several strategic sectors, including aerospace, maritime, and life sciences, while also covering areas such as Industry 4.0, Digital Economy, Green Technology, Smart Cities, Halal initiatives, and Food Security.

It is also expected to contribute to the creation of high-skilled jobs, the strengthening of the local supply chain, and the enhancement of Selangor’s global competitiveness.

PNSB is committed to ensuring that this collaboration materialises in the implementation of high-impact initiatives that generate sustainable economic growth for the state while enhancing people’s well-being.
